Dr. Maleka Najmi graduated from Paul L. Foster School of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, where she was inducted into and served as president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She was also elected into Gold Humanism Honor Society by her colleagues. During medical school, she led several organizations that aimed to educate the El Paso community about skin cancer and its prevention. Some of her remarkable projects were the establishment of virtual classes in free clinics after emergence of Covid-19, starting early skin cancer prevention education in public schools, and launching the first annual 5K Melanoma walk in El Paso. Dr. Najmi is now a PGY-2 at Baylor Scott & White dermatology residency in Temple, TX.
