Cierra Thomas, an Army veteran turned educator, is in her sixth year of teaching. Her powerful social media presence has inspired educators and students alike. Cierra is passionate about adapting to the needs of each student and creating an innovative and collaborative educational environment. Her drive to empower others fuels her to continue making a meaningful difference in every classroom she enters.

Zina Matthews-Holmes has spent nearly 20 years in the classroom, earning Teacher of the Year twice. As a mother of two, including one child with special needs, Zina was motivated to return to school to become an educator and advocate not just for her child but all children. Her adversities have shaped her into a confident, tenacious teacher who believes in the importance of advocating for children and empowering them to overcome challenges.Together, these three educators share their journeys, their passion for student success, and their commitment to resilience—both for themselves and the students they serve.
