  • Healing Racial Trauma in BIPOC Communities with Dr. Pavna Sodhi
    2025/07/10

For this episode I’m joined by therapist, educator, and author Dr. Pavna Sodhi for a clinically rich conversation about racial trauma in BIPOC communities. She is the writer of a book titled Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy for the BIPOC Community. To learn more about Dr. Sodhi you can check out her IG @sunotherapy

    Together, we explore:

🔹 How racial trauma, intergenerational trauma, and immigration trauma show up in the body 🔹 Why culturally rooted and spiritually attuned therapy is essential for healing 🔹 The difference between traditional Western models and culturally grounded mental health care 🔹 How therapists and healers can show up with deeper empathy, humility, and presence 🔹 What it means to decolonize therapy in real and embodied ways

Whether you’re a mental health professional, a person of color on a healing journey, or someone curious about how trauma-informed care intersects with race, culture and identity, this conversation is for you.

  • #93. How Baking Bread Becomes A Healing Practice with Liz Fonseca, LMFT
    2025/06/25

In this episode, I’m joined by Liz Fonseca, LMFT, a licensed mental health therapist and an artist at heart, to talk about how baking sourdough bread became a personal and creative healing practice.

Liz shares how stepping into the kitchen helped her reconnect with herself outside of her clinical role. As someone who supports others through therapy, she also needed a space to create, reflect, and be present. Breadmaking became that space one that’s slow, hands-on, and full of meaning.

We talk about how creative rituals like baking can support emotional wellness, regulate the nervous system, and offer grounding when life feels overwhelming. Liz offers insight into how she balances her identity as a therapist with her need to express herself creatively.

In this episode, we explore: • Liz’s journey as a therapist and creative • How she got into sourdough baking • What breadmaking has taught her about presence and self-connection • The value of creative practices for mental health • Giving ourselves permission to explore new chapters

    Keywords & Topics:

Therapist podcast, mental health, healing through creativity, sourdough bread, self-care, nervous system support, creative healing, embodiment, therapist identity, therapist creativity
