Bardwell continues Inherited Views Of God by examining one of the earliest and most influential places our understanding of God is formed: the family. Long before children can study Scripture for themselves, they are already learning about authority, trust, correction, forgiveness, love, worship, obedience, and the character of God through what they repeatedly observe within the home.

Families pass down far more than traditions, personalities, and memories. They also transmit ways of thinking and interpreting life. A home where approval must constantly be earned can unintentionally produce a performance-based understanding of God. Inconsistent authority can influence how someone perceives the faithfulness and government of God. Religious activity without genuine relationship can teach a person to view God as an obligation rather than Someone to know. Over time, repeated experiences can become invisible theological lenses through which believers interpret both Scripture and their relationship with the Father.

This teaching also confronts the tension between honoring previous generations and examining what they passed down. Biblical honor does not require unquestioningly preserving every inherited belief. Using Scripture and the example of Josiah, Apostle Bardwell establishes that every generation carries a responsibility to test its inheritance against the Word of God, retaining what is true while surrendering what does not accurately reveal God's character. The answer is neither blindly preserving tradition nor reacting against it, because the Kingdom of God must be governed by revelation rather than tradition or reaction.

Inherited Views Of God challenges parents, leaders, mentors, and believers alike to consider what their lives are teaching others about the Father. The goal is not condemnation of our families or previous generations, but greater biblical clarity. Every believer must eventually examine what they received, submit it to Scripture, and determine what should continue into the next generation. We may not have chosen the spiritual inheritance we received, but through the renewing work of the Holy Spirit, we can determine whether we preserve it, correct it, or replace it with a clearer revelation of God through His Word.
