In Theory & Practice demystifies therapy a bit by explaining theories that guide talk therapy as well as what working within that theory might look like in a session.
In each episode Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Birch Cooper (LMHC-D) invites you into his Manhattan office for a few minutes of theory. He is then joined by two New York City stand-up comedians that share a personal story about the episode’s theme: leadership, motivation or change.
Other reoccurring segments include: defining our terms, inspiring stories by Stacey, and a rant about a relatable frustration coupled with helpful intervention.
Our first three episodes on Leadership, Motivation and Change will be released in September of 2026. Additional episodes will be added as scheduling permits.
