  • S3 - Episode 16 - The Overcommitment Chronicles with Alix & Colleen
    2025/06/03

As we approach the end of the season - can you believe our season finale is in 2 weeks?!? we are diving into something that seems to systematically amp up imposter syndrome...overcommitting. 😪 Is it people-pleasing? A need for external validation? Or just sheer delusion that tomorrow might just have more than 24 hours?

Whatever the cause, in this week's episode, we're not only talking about the reasons why we're prone to overextend ourselves, we’re also exploring the hidden costs that come along with it. Because, overcommitting isn’t just a scheduling nightmare—it’s an imposter syndrome amplifier. When you spread yourself too thin, it’s easy to feel like you’re one misstep away from someone figuring out you’re winging it. Hint: They won’t, because you're not... but you still deserve better than running yourself into the ground trying to prove it.

As life long 'overcommitters', we share a few survival tips we have used to get our schedules (and peace of mind) under control, including how we prioritize and arrange our days, how to implement and organize healthy boundaries and how to really focus on and pinpoint what is most important to our quality of life...

TL;DR: Our worth doesn’t depend on how many fires we put out in a week. 🙌🔥

So, if this sounds familiar, join us as we sort through the chaos—together.

  • S3 - Episode 15 - Creative Confidence with Make It Like Megs
    2025/05/20

In our 15th episode, we sit down with Megan - better known as Megs from @makeitlikemegs - whose journey from airline worker and realtor to full-time content creator is filled with creativity, resilience, and a whole lot of DIY spirit.

Megs shares how a love of thrifting, a background in real estate, and a passion for sweat-equity home projects led her to documenting her home renovation journey on Instagram. What started as a side project during her Dartmouth fixer-upper has now grown into a thriving online brand with over 100k followers, collaborations with HGTV, Kent Building Supplies, and more.

We chat about her boldest DIYs (spoiler: handmade bathroom tiles and a cement sink), her biggest flops, and how being self-taught, self-motivated, and creatively driven plays into her relationship with imposter syndrome. Megs opens up about navigating motherhood, protecting her family’s privacy online, and the pressure of maintaining authenticity and connection with a large digital audience.

From creating a rock wall in a camper to turning falling-apart bookcases into modern statement pieces, Megs proves that you don’t need a design degree to create a beautiful home - you just need some courage, a little cement, and a lot of vision.

This episode is a must-listen for anyone who’s ever dreamed of taking a leap into creativity, building something with their own two hands, or wondered if they could really “make it” doing what they love.

  • S3 - Episode 10 - Capturing Confidence with Nicole Lapierre
    2025/03/11

We’re all guilty of having thousands of photos on our phones—snapshots of moments, memories, and let’s be honest, a few too many selfies. But how often do we stop and think about the art of photography? The way a single image can tell a story, capture an emotion, or even shift the way we see ourselves?

In this episode, we sit down with the incredibly talented Nicole Lapierre, a fine art photographer who has built a career capturing the essence of people, places, and moments. But her journey wasn’t a straight path - she went from a neuroscience education to corporate life to picking up a camera and deciding to just go for it.

    We chat about:
📸 The difference between taking photos and truly seeing a moment
📸 Why imposter syndrome almost held Nicole back—and how she chooses to see it differently
📸 The power of comparing yourself to yourself instead of constantly measuring up to others
📸 How social media and the pressure to document everything have changed photography
📸 Navigating big career shifts and trusting your creative instincts

Nicole shares how she’s learned to reframe imposter syndrome - seeing it not as a sign of failure, but as proof that she’s growing and pushing her own limits. She also reminds us that the only person we should ever compare ourselves to is our past selves, because progress is personal, not a competition.

If you’ve ever struggled with self-doubt, creative comparison, or simply want to take better photos - this one’s for you.

So grab settle in, and let’s talk about creativity, confidence, and finding beauty in the details.
