  • benny blanco on Talking About Mental Health
    2025/02/26

During our recent Check In with benny blanco detailing his surprise album, 'I Said I Love You First,' with fiancée Selena Gomez, benny spoke of the importance of finding someone to talk to who can help manage your anxieties and stress, while offering a simple way to turn down the pressure when it becomes too much.

"I think we're in a position where, people look up to us and people put artists and musicians on this pedestal," says blanco, "and I think it's so important to show that everybody's the same, no matter who you are."

"Everybody's going through something," he admits. "I get crippled by anxiety and it's OK to not be OK all the time. I feel like more people should just be real about it and say that everything isn't always perfect. It's not always fine. We're always in some sort of battle and you should talk about it, and talk to other people, and find someone great that you can talk to."

Getting outside for a little bit of exercise has proven to be a great way for benny to reset his own mental health. "For me, going on a walk and just clearing my head always helps me," he says. "Whenever I don't know what to do, whenever I'm feeling stressed, I always drink a big glass of water and then go on a walk. Then, I always feel a little better when I come back."

Audacy's I’m Listening initiative aims to encourage those who are dealing with mental health issues to understand they are not alone. If you or anyone you know is struggling with depression or anxiety, know that someone is always there. Additionally, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 988.
