Myers preaches through 1 John 5:1-5 and explains that because we have overcome the world, the commands Jesus gives are are not burdensome, and we obey his commands. Believers obey Jesus commands because in Christ, they win! They have overcome the world because of Christ and are born again of His Spirit. This will show in our obedience to his commands because our natures have been made alive by his gospel! Are you born again? Then you win and you will start to look different in this world. Where the world can’t you can. And there is nothing that can happen to you that can thwart God’s plan to work all things for your good. That should make us walk differently.
