  • TAH #21 - Scot Gladstone, Glacier Range Riders, Washington

    In the 21st episode of “The Announcer’s Hour” podcast, Scot Gladstone joins the podcast to discuss his roles broadcasting in baseball and college athletics.

    Gladstone is the voice of the Glacier Range Riders, a professional baseball team in the Pioneer League, which is a partner league of Major League Baseball. Gladstone is also a consistent voice of athletic broadcasts for the University of Washington in Seattle.

    Gladstone is from Montana and spent time with the Rockford Rivets of the Northwoods League and the Bristol Blues in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. Gladstone was also a broadcaster for North Park and Saint Martin’s University and graduated from Colorado College.

    In the 20th episode of “The Announcer’s Hour” podcast, Gavin Bicho joins the podcast to discuss his role as the Sports Director of WVUM 90.5 FM.

    In his current role, Bicho serves as the Sports Director for the University of Miami’s student-run radio station, WVUM 90.5 FM. Bicho is also a regular contributor to the university’s television program, UMTV.

    Bicho considered staying in Rhode Island before ultimately choosing Miami. There, Bicho covered Rhode Island Rams athletics and continues to do so as a contributor to A10Talk.

    In the 19th episode of “The Announcer’s Hour” podcast, Spencer McLaughlin joins the podcast to discuss his role as the Voice of the Southern Utah Thunderbirds.

    McLaughlin is the play-by-play voice of Southern Utah football and men’s basketball. In addition, McLaughlin is a podcast host for the “Locked On” network and covers the Oregon Ducks. Before taking on his current roles, McLaughlin was the radio and television voice of Eastern Oklahoma State College.

    McLaughlin graduated from Santa Clara University in 2020. While there, McLaughlin was a student broadcaster for KSCU 103.3 FM. During his senior year, McLaughlin served as the station’s Sports Director.

    Eisenberg is a play-by-play broadcaster for the Kansas City Royals, a Major League Baseball team. A longtime baseball voice, Eisenberg spent years as a Minor League play-by-play voice for teams like the Omaha Storm Chasers and Winston-Salem Dash.

    Eisenberg graduated from the University of Maryland. While there, Eisenberg was a play-by-play man for the Terrapins baseball team, broadcasting home and road games. In other roles, Eisenberg has called sports like basketball, soccer, and field hockey at universities around the country.

    In the 17th episode of “The Announcer’s Hour” podcast, Rich Burk joins the podcast to discuss his versatile experience in play-by-play.

    Burk currently serves as a lead play-by-play voice of the Hillsboro Hops, the Arizona Diamondbacks Single-A affiliate. On occasion, Burk will fill in for Portland Trail Blazers games. This fall, Burk will have play-by-play duties for several Oregon State athletics events.

    Burk previously worked with the Pac-12 network and for NBC during its coverage of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The seasoned broadcaster spent several years in minor league baseball for the Triple-A Portland Beavers, Bend Rockies, and more.

    In the 16th episode of “The Announcer’s Hour” podcast, Travis Demers joins the podcast to discuss his time as an NBA broadcaster and more.

    Demers is the voice of the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers. Out of the Western Conference, Demers is responsible for play-by-play duties for all home and road games during the season. On occasion, Demers will fill in as the television play-by-play broadcaster for the Blazers.

    In other stops in the Pacific Northwest, Demers called games for the University of Portland, Hillsboro Hops, and OSAA. In addition, Demers hosted shows for SiriusXM College Sports Nation and NBC Sports Northwest. Demers holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Broadcasting from Long Island University.

  • TAH #15 - Joel Norman, Wenatchee AppleSox, Lincoln Stars

    In the 15th episode of “The Announcer’s Hour” podcast, Joel Norman joins me to talk about broadcasting in the West Coast League (WCL) and the United States Hockey League (USHL).

    Norman is the current voice of the Wenatchee AppleSox in the WCL. In the baseball offseason, Norman has play-by-play duties for the Lincoln Stars of the USHL.

    Norman graduated from West Virginia University and started in his baseball path by calling Mountaineers baseball. In the first part of Norman’s stint in Wenatchee, the broadcaster worked on the sales side and helped the AppleSox grow. In late August, Norman was named the WCL Broadcaster of the Year.
