  • The Strength Within You; It's Always Too Soon to Quit with Jay Setchell
    2026/04/20

Jay Setchell has experienced both multiple deaths and near death experiences. He's had 73 surgeries and even experienced paralysis. He's done all of this with a foundation of Faith, Hope and Prayer.

Everyone carries a strength inside them, often without even knowing it’s there. The key is learning to tap into that strength when life demands it. Sometimes it comes from lessons we’ve picked up along the way. Other times, it shows up in the moment, surprising even us.

The questions Jay has often asked himself is: Where does my inner strength come from? The truth is, it’s not from just one place. His upbringing shaped him: parents, grandparents, neighbors, teachers, faith, friends, have all left their mark.

The discipline and structure of the Marine Corps drilled into him a commitment to every cause he took on.

Years of pain, frustration, and setbacks gave him a relentless determination to get back up and keep going. His successes fueled his drive, and even his failures gave him fire to keep pushing forward.

What he’s learned is simple but powerful: He can’t expect his future to be handed to him by someone else. It’s his responsibility. That doesn’t mean we don’t need other people. We do. We need the Lord God first and foremost. Relationships, family, and community are vital to living a full life. But at the end of the day, no one else can set our goals or make us take the steps to reach them. That’s on us.

Jay would say … “Your success, depending on what "success" means to you is a matter of courage, resilience, grit, determination, perseverance, choices, failures and what you did to overcome them, your thought pattern and so much more."

“It’s ALWAYS too soon to quit!”

    2026/04/13

On October 6, 2019 at 25 years old, post college football and three months away from his wedding, Tyler suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in the middle of the Medtronic Twin Cities 10-Mile race. Lying nearly lifeless on the pavement, a collection of strangers (one of them 'Jesus' AKA Jesse) came to his aide and performed CPR on him for 10-15 minutes until an AED arrived on the scene and shocked his heart back into rhythm.

Seeing the positive impact he was able to have on others through sharing his true, real life experiences, it inspired him to formalize his teachings and motivation … and Living Proof Leadership was born.

  • Choosing Faith Over Fear, God’s Gift of Laughter with Headlining Comedian Carolanne Miljavac
    2026/03/17

Today we’re laughing with Carolanne Miljavac, a headlining comedian (and author) using her God-given gift of humor to overcome hardships with the strength and courage to persevere.

Carolanne is a straight up star! Her comedic videos, Real Life Live Feeds, and Heart to Hearts have led to over 1 billion video views, 2 million + fans on social media, 2 best selling books, headlining multiple comedy tours, and you can find her comedy special, “Life Out Loud” on YouTube.

Carolanne can get away with saying almost anything because she says it with a southern accent (born in Alabama and living in Missouri) and delivers a little giggle afterward.

Drawing inspiration from comedy legends such as Carol Burnett and Gilda Radner, Carolanne shares what brings her joy and how she feels called to bring that joy to others. In her book, She Laughs, Choosing Faith over Fear, Carolanne writes how laughter is a gift from God and can be used to overcome poverty, grief, brokenness, disaster, hopeless situations, and many of life's struggles.

Here is the scripture reference that she attributes to her calling, Romans 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Taken right out of her book, Odd(ly) Enough … "Poverty, abuse, and cancer all these years later have been worked out for good according to His purpose. I’m so ecstatic for readers to laugh, cry, and rejoice with me as we walk through the revelation that everything you thought made you unworthy is actually what makes you exactly enough for the unique calling on your life. It’s your quirks, your weirdness, and the lessons learned in your ditches that make you valuable, not useless...Oddly Enough."

Take a break from the crazies and laugh with Carolanne here —> https://www.facebook.com/CarolanneMiljavac/

You can learn more about her comedy, connect on her socials and buy her books here —> https://www.carolannecomedy.com/home

If you’re within a drive of Missoula, MT … go see her live for a “Girls Night Out” on April 18th —> https://donate.tcpnw.com/event/girls-night-out-humor-and-hope-event-2026/e771098 . Gentlemen, this is a great opportunity to treat your wife to a fun Girls Night Out she won’t forget!

What we learned on this recording: snow storms can slow the Internet connection down and that means I may unintentionally talk over my guest. Sorry Carolanne! And, I sound like my S’s” are slurred so maybe I should have considered waiting until the Procaine wore off by the time we recorded. It was totally worth it though!
