    Rameshwor Sharma Chalise, better known by his pen name Ramesh Bikal (1928–2008), was a celebrated Nepali writer and painter from the Kathmandu Valley. Renowned for his vivid portrayals of rural life and the everyday struggles and joys of ordinary Nepalese, he remains one of the most influential voices in modern Nepali literature.
