In 1977, British author Stuart Holroyd released a little-known but extraordinary book titled Prelude to the Landing on Planet Earth. Part travelogue, part philosophical inquiry, the book documents his firsthand time inside one of the strangest spiritual experiments of the 20th century.

Holroyd found himself embedded with parapsychologist Andrija Puharich, psychic medium Phyllis Schlemmer, and British aristocrat Sir John Whitmore as they moved across the world under the direction of a purported non-human intelligence known as “The Nine.” Their mission was as improbable as it was ambitious: through coordinated group meditation and consciousness work, they believed they could help de-escalate global conflict- specifically tensions in the Middle East.

For decades, Holroyd remained silent about this experience beyond the pages of the book. He has never spoken publicly about what he witnessed, what he believed, or what he doubted… until now.
