Sweet Tea & Side Eye is where Southern charm meets queer chaos. Pull up a chair and pour yourself a glass as we talk life, relationships, family, travel, pop culture, and the stories that probably should’ve stayed between friends—but definitely won’t. We’re serving up plenty of laughs, a little unsolicited advice, and just the right amount of side eye. And when it’s time for The Queer Agenda, we dive into the politics, headlines, and issues affecting our community—with opinions, humor, and absolutely no pretending we have it all figured out. The tea is sweet. The opinions are strong. And nothing is off the table. Welcome to Sweet Tea & Side Eye.Copyright 2026 Sweet Tea and Side Eye

  • Why Labels Matter
    2026/09/01

This week on Sweet Tea & Side Eye, we’re diving into the growing “I’m Gay, Not Queer” movement and what it means for the LGBTQ+ community. We share our thoughts on labels, identity, and why distancing ourselves from other members of our community can ultimately hurt all of us.

Are we getting so caught up in the differences between us that we’re losing the bigger picture? As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” We talk about why standing alongside our queer, trans, nonbinary, bisexual, lesbian, and gay siblings matters—and why none of us should assume that someone else’s fight has nothing to do with us.

We also take time to remember Dolly Parton and reflect on the love, acceptance, and kindness she showed throughout her life, including the impact she had on generations of LGBTQ+ people.

It’s a conversation about identity, community, grief, and remembering that even when we don’t agree on everything, we’re stronger when we stand together.

  • The Dead Moms Club
    2026/08/25

This week’s episode of Sweet Tea & Side Eye is The Dead Moms Club.

We’re joined by the incredibly talented Lauren-Michael Sellers as she shares her love of music, how she got her start on The Voice, and how songwriting has helped her tell the stories that are sometimes too painful to say out loud.

Together, we have an honest conversation about losing our moms, the trauma those relationships can leave behind, and the complicated reality of grief. Because even after our mothers are gone, our relationships with them continue to change. We’re still unpacking the hurt, holding on to the love, and learning how to live with everything left unsaid.

It’s raw, vulnerable, healing—and filled with beautiful music. Grab your sweet tea and join us for The Dead Moms Club.

  • The Men We Imagined
    2026/08/17

When we were younger, we each had an idea of the men we thought we would become—but life had plans of its own. This week, we’re talking about boyhood expectations, masculinity, coming out, marriage, fatherhood, and the unexpected journeys that shaped us. We may not have become the men we once imagined, but we’re pretty damn proud of the men we are today. ????????
