If you have ever thought, “I’m not doing anything terrible, so I must be doing fine,” Jesus disagrees, and he does it in a way that can feel both challenging and strangely freeing. We dig into a powerful contrast: Christianity is not simply avoiding sin or keeping your hands clean. It is the presence of Christ in a life that has actually been changed from the inside out.

We spend time with Barnabas, one of the most important and most overlooked figures in the New Testament. Scripture describes him with a line worth aiming for: a good man, filled with the Holy Spirit and faith. Barnabas walks into Antioch, sees grace at work, and chooses encouragement. That choice is not sentimental; it is a real ministry that builds people, strengthens wavering faith, and helps the Church grow. We also look at what makes him a great leader: he refuses to make it about himself, seeks out Saul, and shares the mission because the Kingdom matters more than personal credit.

Then we connect it to the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus raises righteousness from outward compliance to the human heart. Avoiding murder is not the finish line; confronting anger is. Looking religious is not enough; seeking reconciliation is. We talk about resentment as poison, forgiveness as freedom, and why refusing bitterness is not pretending wrong did not happen but refusing to let it win.
