概要

 In the summer of 2017, Luna spent a week in the small town of Shady Cove, Oregon, housesitting for a retired couple who lived at the end of a dead-end road called Ponderosa Lane. It was a quiet street of split-level homes with long driveways and big front yards, the kind of place where nothing ever happened. But on the third night, the streetlights went out. Not a power outage — every house still had lights on inside, but the poles along the lane were dead. And then she saw the man at the corner. He was just standing there in the dark, not moving, not breathing loud enough to hear. But every time she looked away and back, he was closer. By the fifth night, she learned his name from the old woman next door. She wished she hadn't.
