概要

In the autumn of 1997, a road crew outside the small town of Dry Fork, Tennessee, opened a sealed well on Crow Creek Road. Inside they found not water but a narrow shaft descending into an impossible darkness, and at the bottom, a sound like someone humming a hymn they almost recognized. Luna tells the story of the last man to climb down into that well—a county inspector named Harold Pope—and what he carried back up in the hollow of his chest.
