概要

 Luna recalls a summer night in 1987 when the Greyhound from St. Louis pulled into Cold Spring, Missouri, and a passenger who wasn't on the manifest stepped off. She was working the ticket counter that summer, filling in for her uncle. The man had no luggage, no destination, and he asked about a chair — a wooden rocking chair with a split arm that sat in the corner of the waiting room. The night clerk told her that chair had been there since before the depot was built, and that sometimes, when the station was empty, it rocked on its own. She didn't believe it until she saw the man sit in it and the room went cold. By dawn he was gone, but the chair wasn't empty anymore — something was still sitting in it, watching the door. A story about what waits in the places we pass through, and how some seats never let you go.
