Right, here we go. The idea: A guest and I scroll through our notes app, say “stop”, and reveal whatever comes up. It's essentially Russian Roulette but without death. Welcome to the first episode of Secret Phone Notes! Today I'm joined by Elina, a filmmaker from New Zealand who now lives in Japan. We've never met before but I guess that fits the spontaneity.

As it turns out, years ago, we were only 2 weeks apart as we both hiked the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. One made it, one didn't. This pops up as does growing up in the cult of Korean Jesus.
