Echoes of the Wise — (The Real) Episode I: “The Power of Letting Go”

    Welcome, traveler.

In this, what was meant to be the first episode of Echoes of the Wise but is now the 3rd - after what was meant to be the 5th and a bridging episode owning up to my error - we step into the Chamber of Release and explore one of the most misunderstood forms of strength: the courage to let go.

Through mythic imagery, ancient teachings, and reflective storytelling, we examine why we cling to what no longer serves us – and how release becomes a path to clarity, peace, and renewal. From the shifting walls of the Emberborn ruins to the quiet wisdom of Feracinth’s trees, this episode invites you to look inward and lay down the burdens you no longer need to carry.

    Inside this journey, you’ll discover:

    • The Paradox of Strength – why holding on is not always power

    • The Four Torches of Release – relationships, dreams, forgiveness, and the self

    • The Parable of the Monks – a reminder that the mind often carries what the body has already set down

    • Simple practices to bring letting go into daily life

    • Guided journaling prompts to deepen your reflection

If this echo serves you, mark the path (like), follow the journey (subscribe), and light the way for others (share).

May you find the strength to release, the courage to grow, and the peace waiting on the other side.

  • Echoes - A Bridge Episode
    2026/03/21

Yes. It's not a fluke. In fact, it's much closer to kismet. I launched Echoes with what was meant to be the 5th episode of the series, rather than the 1st.

Why is that kismet? Easy, it forced me to be a student of my own lessons. I had to breathe, take a step back, accept ownership of my mistake...

And here we are, with a bridging episode of me doing just that. Most might have panicked - I did, for a moment - asking themselves what to do, accosting themselves for making the mistake, and driving themselves crazy deleting or editing, or hiding under the rug like an old cartoon character. And their podcast would have gone up in smoke.

    Instead, here we are.

Oh, and the official first episode will be coming very soon, so keep your eyes and ears open for it.

  • The Courage to Begin Again
    2026/03/01

    Welcome, traveler.

In this first episode of Echoes of the Wise (what was meant to be the 5th), we venture into what it looks like to embody the courage it takes to begin again. -----------------------------------

Episode 5 — The Courage to Begin Again

When life breaks you open, when the path collapses beneath your feet, when the world you knew turns to ash — beginning again becomes the bravest act you’ll ever attempt.

In this episode of Echoes of the Wise, Jason Welch — the Flamebearer of the Emberborn — shares a fireside teaching from Filograt Screedeliús, gnome of the deep and ascended Great Gold Dragon King. Together, they explore the quiet, powerful courage required to rise after loss, failure, heartbreak, or the slow unraveling of who you used to be.

This is a story about collapse, renewal, and the golden art of becoming whole again.

    In this episode, you’ll discover:

    • Why strength is not the absence of falling, but the choice to rise

    • How “the blessing of the break” turns fractures into wisdom

    • Why you don’t need the whole path — only the next step

    • The quiet turning point where every hero chooses to begin again

    • Permission to release old versions of yourself and step into the new

    Journaling Prompts from Filograt Screedeliús:

    1. Recall a fall that broke more than your body — what gold could fill those fractures now?

    2. What whisper inside you refuses to die, and where is it calling you to rise?

    3. Where does your path fade, and what courage might emerge if you released the need for certainty?

    4. What version of yourself must be honored… and then released?

    5. If you chose to begin again tonight, what is the first small act that would guide you toward dawn?

Sit by the fire. Warm your hands. Let the night soften. And when you’re ready… begin again.
