 As the calendar flips to March 2026, the Big 12 remains the most chaotic and compelling theater in college basketball. This week served as a definitive turning point, separating the title contenders from the middle-of-the-pack programs fighting for postseason positioning. Arizona Asserts Dominance The Arizona Wildcats officially took a stranglehold on the conference this week. Their statement 84–61 victory over No. 14 Kansas at the McKale Center solidified their status as the team to beat. Freshman Brayden Burries continues to look like a future lottery pick, posting a massive 20-point, 12-rebound double-double against the Jayhawks. With a 14–2 conference record, the Wildcats have clinched at least a share of the regular-season title and remain a heavy favorite for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Logjam for Second Behind Arizona, a brutal four-way battle has emerged for the remaining double-byes in the Big 12 Tournament. Texas Tech, Houston, Kansas, and Iowa State are all within striking distance of one another. Texas Tech and Houston have both hovered around 12–4, showcasing elite defensive efficiency.
