A Non-Anxious Posture
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life…” — Matthew 6:25
We seldom tell someone “don’t worry” unless there’s something real to worry about.
The Greek word translated worry — merimnaō — means to be pulled apart… divided within ourselves.
There are financial pressures.
Health concerns.
Family strain.
Career uncertainty.
And challenges unfolding in the world around us.
Jesus is not dismissing those realities.
He is inviting us into a non-anxious posture.
The question is not whether concerns exist.
The question is whether they will pull us apart.
Anxiety fragments our trust.
It convinces us we are alone in what we carry.
So we remind ourselves — and we remind each other:
We are in the hands of a loving God.
And God has entrusted us to one another.
This posture is not denial.
It is not pretending everything is fine.
It is choosing — again and again — to stand in trust.
Held together.
Not pulled apart.
Peace be with you.
