This week at The Seed Christian Fellowship, Pastor Dave opened the season of Advent by reminding us that Advent is a time of preparation—preparing our hearts, homes, and lives for the coming of Christ. Reflecting on Isaiah 9 and Matthew 1, he encouraged us to imagine the ancient Israelites waiting in captivity for the promised Messiah and to let God’s Word feel new again. Pastor Dave highlighted the many promises in Isaiah—light in darkness, joy, freedom from burdens, and the coming of the Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Advent is a message of hope for the weary, the burdened, the grieving, and the anxious. As we enter this season, we’re invited to walk in the light of Christ, trust in God’s fulfilled promises, and rediscover the awe and wonder of Immanuel—God with us.
