We are often just thrown into this. Confused, sad, scared, stressed out and uninformed. Then we go online for help and are told that this is a gift, a wonderful honour to look after our aging parents and we see photos and read blurbs of the perfect families looking after their perfect parents. Laughing and hugging surrounded by family. This does NOT happen all the time. We have moments of joy, laughter, clarity and love but often it's gross, frustrating, disappointing and confusing.
