• If Shadow Can Seem Real, Why Not Light?
    2026/09/04

What if we've gotten something completely backward?

Why can one frightening thought hijack an entire afternoon, while possibility needs a five-year plan, three signs from the universe, and preferably a notarized letter before we'll believe it?

And when did we decide fear was the more reliable narrator?

Michele brought a deceptively simple question into this week's I Ching Mashup:

If shadow can seem real, why not light?

So we took it to the I Ching:

When fear, limitation, and shadow feel more real than possibility, what helps us discern what is actually true—and how can we turn our attention toward light without denying what we're experiencing?

    And then things got weird.

A song neither of us had thought about in years suddenly entered the conversation. We looked it up. Read what it was actually saying. Got goosebumps.

    Then we pulled the cards.

And somehow Clint Eastwood became a spiritual teacher.

We're not going to tell you what the I Ching said.

Because this one is better experienced with us.

If life has felt heavy lately—or you've noticed how easy it is to believe what could go wrong while questioning everything that could go right—come mash it up with us.

Maybe the question isn't how to get rid of the darkness.

    Maybe it's:

What haven't we been able to see because we've been staring at it?

  • When Opportunity Arrives: Can You Hold What You've Asked For?
    2026/08/28

What if getting what you've been asking for isn't the end of the manifestation story?

What if it's actually the beginning?

In our last conversation, we explored the opportunities we might be missing—the possibilities that arrive differently than expected and are easy to overlook when we're too attached to how we think life should unfold.

This week on I Ching Mashup, another question began tugging at us:

What happens when the opportunity actually arrives?

We've all asked for more at some point.

More abundance. More love. More clients. More visibility. More freedom. More connection. More purpose.

But have we created the capacity to actually hold what we're asking for?

And what happens when growth arrives faster, messier, or in a completely different form than we imagined?

So we bring a bigger question to the I Ching:

What is the present energetic pattern affecting our collective—and what should we cultivate now to support long-term stability, growth, and well-being?

From there, we let the conversation wander—as we always do.

We explore the difference between expansion and sustainability, why our instinct to control the outcome can sometimes interfere with what we're trying to create, and what it means to build a life sturdy enough for the next version of ourselves.

We also bring the conversation home—literally—through Feng Shui, looking at how our environments can support greater stability, relationships, self-knowledge, and the capacity to receive.

This episode is for you if things are beginning to move.

    If new people are appearing.

    If opportunities are opening.

If something you've been asking for finally seems to be finding its way toward you.

Or even if you can simply sense that something is changing, but you don't quite know what it is yet.

Because maybe the question isn't only:

How do I get what I want?

Maybe there's another question waiting underneath it:

Who do I need to become—and what do I need to create around me—to hold it when it arrives?

Come mash it up with us.

    We asked the I Ching.

And once again, the answer wasn't quite what we expected.

Would you recognize it if it didn't look anything like you expected? We are grateful you joined us!

  • The Opportunities You Might Be Missing: Seeing What’s Already Trying to Find You
    2026/08/21

What if the opportunity you've been asking for is already here… and you almost missed it because it didn't arrive the way you expected?

After several weeks of some pretty deep conversations, we were ready for a little fun.

There was a lot moving around us—literally. Storms had just swept through Michele's area, trees were down, debris was everywhere, and we found ourselves talking about what happens after the storm.

When something has been cleared away, what becomes visible that we couldn't see before?

That led us to this week's I Ching question:

How can we recognize the opportunities coming into our lives—and discern which ones are actually aligned with our personal path and higher selves?

We thought we were asking a fairly light question.

The I Ching had other ideas.

Almost immediately, the reading began mirroring what was happening around us in ways that made us laugh: thunderstorms, clearing debris, wandering into unfamiliar territory, helpful people, unexpected paths—and, naturally, that recurring instruction we apparently need to hear again and again:

    Be still.

But this time, there was another layer.

What if the opportunity that's right for you doesn't look like the opportunity you imagined?

What if it arrives through someone unexpected?

What if the unfamiliar path is actually the aligned one?

And what might you need to clear—from your home, your relationships, your expectations, or even your own thinking—before you can see what's trying to come in?

We wander through Feng Shui, the front of the Bagua, helpful people, intuition, inner truth, clearing physical and energetic debris, and the curious relationship between being visible and being able to see what's becoming visible to you.

Along the way, one phrase emerged that we think we'll be sitting with for a while:

    Unfamiliar doesn't mean misaligned.

So if you've been asking for something new, waiting for a sign, or wondering why the next step hasn't appeared yet, come mash it up with us.

    Because maybe it has.

The more interesting question might be:

Would you recognize it if it didn't look anything like you expected? We are grateful you joined us!

  • Breaking Free from the Busyness Trap
    2026/08/14

What if the greatest obstacle to creating the life you want isn't a lack of time…

…but the constant pressure to stay busy?

In this episode of I Ching Mashup, Michele and Lisa realize they're both caught in the same pattern. Even though we teach about alignment, intention, and creating space for what matters most, we found ourselves pulled into the very busyness we encourage others to question.

So we turned to the I Ching and asked:

What needs our attention to transform chronic busyness into sustainable presence, and what small shift can help us move forward with greater clarity, ease, and joy?

The answers were both humbling and reassuring.

Rather than asking us to do more, the I Ching reminds us that true increase comes from creating space. Healthy boundaries, disciplined attention, and intentional pauses aren't distractions from our purpose—they're what make it possible to live it.

    Together, we explore:

✨ Why busyness has become a cultural habit instead of a necessity

✨ The surprising difference between productivity and presence

✨ How healthy boundaries create more opportunity, not less

✨ Why receiving is just as important as doing

✨ Recognizing when success begins to crowd out what matters most

✨ Repairing the small energy leaks that quietly drain our lives

If you've ever reached the end of the day wondering how you were so busy while feeling disconnected from what matters most, this conversation is for you.

Sometimes creating your best life doesn't begin by adding something new.

Sometimes it begins by creating enough space to receive what's already trying to find you.

  • Creating Your Best Life Algorithm: You Can't Pour from an Empty Cup
    2026/08/07

What if the most compassionate thing you can do for someone else… is first take care of yourself?

In this episode of I Ching Mashup, Michele and Lisa reflect on something many of us struggle with the desire to help everyone around us while quietly running ourselves empty.

As we watched people in our own lives navigating grief, burnout, major life transitions, and emotional upheaval, a deeper question emerged:

How do we truly support others without carrying their burdens, enabling unhealthy patterns, or abandoning ourselves in the process?

Turning to the I Ching, we discover that the answer isn't found in doing more.

It's found in becoming more present.

The reading reminds us that patience, joy, stillness, and inner alignment aren't luxuries reserved for "when life slows down." They are the very practices that allow us to show up with authenticity, discernment, and compassion when life becomes difficult—for ourselves and for those we love.

    Together, we explore:

✨ Why busyness often disconnects us from what matters most

✨ Supporting others without rescuing or enabling

✨ The difference between fixing someone's life and holding space for their growth

✨ Why patience creates wisdom that rushing never can

✨ Reclaiming joy as an inner practice rather than an external achievement

✨ Creating enough inner stability to become a calm presence in a changing world

This conversation is for anyone who feels responsible for everyone else's well-being, struggles to slow down, or wonders how to remain grounded while the people around them are facing profound change.

Because sometimes the greatest gift you can offer another person...

...is becoming someone who is deeply rooted in your own peace.

  • When Life Doesn't Go as Planned: An I Ching Guide to Trusting the Pause
    2026/07/31

Have you ever started a new chapter expecting momentum… only to feel like everything suddenly slowed down?

That's exactly where we found ourselves.

After months of hearing that the energy of the Fire Horse would bring movement, visibility, and forward progress, life seemed to do the opposite. Delays. Technical glitches. Unexpected interruptions. Plans changing at the last minute.

So instead of pushing harder, we asked the I Ching a different question:

How do we work with setbacks so they become part of our progress instead of standing in the way of it?

    The answer surprised us.

Rather than telling us to force momentum, the I Ching invited us to become more receptive—to soften our grip, trust the timing, and recognize that sometimes life pulls us backward only to launch us farther forward.

    In this conversation we explore:

✨ Why apparent setbacks may actually be hidden preparation

✨ The difference between forcing and allowing

✨ Learning to receive instead of constantly striving

✨ Why slowing down isn't the same as falling behind

✨ The wisdom of releasing control without giving up

✨ How to stay aligned when life refuses to follow your timeline

If you've been feeling frustrated because things aren't moving as quickly as you'd hoped, this episode is a gentle reminder that pauses are often part of the path—not proof that you've taken a wrong turn.

Sometimes the breakthrough isn't found by pushing harder.

Sometimes it's waiting for you in the space where you finally let go.

  • Leading Without Ego: Feminine Energy, Feng Shui & the I Ching
    2026/07/24

What happens when you stop trying to hold everything together and begin trusting the wisdom already living inside you?

In this episode of I Ching Mashup, Lisa and Michele welcome Feng Shui consultant Brooke Ballan into a warm, honest conversation about feminine energy, self-trust, healthy boundaries, and what it means to guide others without losing yourself in the process.

Brooke shares how her own healing journey inspired her Feng Shui Your Feminine meditation—a practice designed to help women reconnect with the part of themselves beneath the responsibilities, expectations, busyness, and pressure to keep performing.

Together, we ask the I Ching:

How can we become compassionate guides during this period of change without creating dependency or leading from ego?

The answers lead us into a rich exploration of joy, limitations, temporary obstacles, discernment, supportive relationships, and the quiet strength that grows when we stop forcing our way through life.

This conversation is for anyone who has been carrying too much, questioning their path, or feeling called to lead in a way that is softer, wiser, and more deeply aligned.

    We talk about:

✨ Releasing the need for constant external validation

✨ Why boundaries can create more freedom and joy

✨ Letting obstacles redirect rather than defeat you

✨ Aligning your inner world with your outer environment

✨ Leading through embodiment instead of control

✨ Recognizing the gifts that come so naturally you may overlook them

There is a powerful reminder woven through this episode:

You do not have to become louder, busier, or more perfect to make an impact.

Sometimes the next level of your life begins when you soften, listen, and allow your real self to lead.

  • The Great Reset Begins Within: Building New Systems for a New Era
    2026/07/16

What if the greatest transformation happening right now isn't "out there" in the world—but within each of us?

In this episode of I Ching Mashup, Michele and Lisa explore a timely question inspired by a rare astrological configuration known as the Barbault Basket—a planetary alignment associated with collective shifts, emerging systems, and new ways of organizing human life.

Rather than predicting the future, we ask a deeper question:

What is the underlying opportunity within this moment, and how can we consciously participate in creating what comes next?

As the I Ching unfolds, the guidance is both surprising and reassuring. Before we can build healthier communities, organizations, and systems, we're invited to release old burdens, reconnect with our authentic nature, establish healthy boundaries, and strengthen our inner foundation.

    Together, we explore:

✨ Why periods of collective change begin with personal transformation

✨ The relationship between excess, overwhelm, and authentic living

✨ Releasing outdated identities and limiting patterns

✨ How boundaries create freedom rather than restriction

✨ Building new systems through conscious leadership instead of fear

✨ Why your unique gifts may become part of the future that's emerging

Rather than reacting to uncertainty, the I Ching reminds us that every ending contains the seeds of a new beginning. As we cultivate greater self-awareness, clarity, and courage, we naturally become contributors to a more conscious and compassionate world.

This conversation is for anyone sensing that old ways of living are falling away and wondering how to participate in what comes next without becoming overwhelmed by the process.

Because the future isn't something we wait for.

It's something we begin creating—one conscious choice at a time.
