I decided to break all my usual food rules for a day—no tracking, no restrictions, just eating whatever I wanted. From a donut breakfast to a milkshake and fries, I indulged in carnival-style food while wearing a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) to see how my body reacted. And wow—it did not love the experiment. Between blood sugar spikes, inflammation, and brain fog, I felt the effects almost immediately. This experience reinforced why whole foods matter, helping with energy, gut health, and recovery. While fun in the moment, the aftermath reminded me why I choose nutrient-dense eating—because feeling good always beats a sugar crash.
