 On Sunday, January 11, 2026, the U.S. Transhumanist Party invited Hunter Rand, a candidate for City Council in Sparks, Nevada, Ward 2, who was endorsed by the U.S. Pirate Party in November 2025 and became endorsed by the USTP in the course of the discussion. This Virtual Enlightenment Salon provided an in-depth glimpse into Hunter Rand’s outlook on the issues, campaign, and broader policy thinking. Some transhumanist-aligned themes discussed included the use of technology for public safety while respecting privacy, strengthening emergency services - especially fire protection - to save lives, and facilitating infrastructure building to ease the traffic congestion in Sparks.
