After two decades of working within the walls of left-leaning media outlets CNN and NPR, he finally left and became one of the world’s most prominent news fact-checkers. As he explains, Truth = Facts + Context, and when it comes to mass media and their treatment of Israel, that equation simply doesn’t hold.

Josh Levs is host of They Stand Corrected, the podcast and Substack newsletter fact checking the news. He spent 20 years on NPR and CNN, where he became lead on-air fact checker. His many honors include Peabody Awards, Edward R. Murrow Awards, and awards from the Society of Professional Journalists and the National Association of Black Journalists.

A popular keynote speaker, he has spoken everywhere from the United Nations to Congress, Google, and a wide array of organizations and universities. He won a debate at Oxford.

Josh launched They Stand Corrected to provide listeners with concrete facts and expose systemic problems in mainstream media. Many episodes focus on antisemitism and anti-Israel bigotry, demonstrating that news agencies even have rules institutionalizing this bias. The Elie Wiesel Foundation says, “They Stand Corrected is an important contribution to understanding how media bias has turned too many otherwise thoughtful and informed individuals against the Jewish people.”
