Today’s reading takes us to Hosea 8, where Israel’s broken covenant brings the warning that punishment is coming. They still used spiritual language and cried, “My God, we know you,” but their profession was loud while their obedience was absent. They had rejected God’s law, replaced His authority, and redesigned religion to suit their own desires.
Hosea 8 reminds us that empty religion cannot save and manufactured idols cannot replace the God who made us. Israel sowed the wind and reaped the whirlwind because they multiplied altars while forgetting their Maker. So today, read Hosea 8 and let it warn your heart: do not settle for words without obedience, religion without surrender, or worship that sounds spiritual but has forgotten God.
