Today’s reading takes us to Hosea 11, where we see the heart of a brokenhearted Father. Israel was determined to leave God, but God was unwilling to surrender Israel. He remembers loving His son, calling him out of Egypt, teaching him to walk, feeding him, carrying him, and drawing him with cords of kindness—yet Israel kept running from the hands that had held them.
Hosea 11 reminds us that God is not a cold-hearted judge eager to punish; He is a grieving Father whose love is deeper than Israel’s rebellion. And this chapter points us to Jesus, the faithful Son who succeeds where Israel failed and bears judgment so wandering children can come home. So today, read Hosea 11 and remember: Israel persisted in rebellion, but God persisted in relentless love.
