Husband vs. Wife: 10 Questions Every Couple Should Ask

How well do you really know your spouse? In this fun and surprisingly vulnerable episode, Christal and Lennon put their 20-year marriage to the test with 10 Husband vs. Wife questions—without letting each other see their answers first!

From the little things that drive each other crazy to what makes them feel most loved, they discover where they see things the same way… and where they definitely don’t! They talk about stress, conflict, date nights, personal growth, traveling together, giving each other space, and what they’ve learned through some of the hardest seasons of their marriage.

But underneath the laughter and playful teasing is an important reminder: a healthy marriage requires continually getting to know your spouse, communicating well, staying on the same team, and choosing to invest in your relationship—even when life gets hard.

They also share what helped them navigate difficult seasons, including the importance of prayer, staying connected romantically, and remembering that you and your spouse are partners—not enemies.

And the final question leads to one of the most heartfelt moments of the episode as they share what they are more grateful for in each other today than when they first got married.

Want to try it with your spouse? We’ve included all 10 questions in the show notes so you can listen together, answer them for yourselves, and see how well you really know each other!

Grab your spouse, take a drive, go on a date, or just find a quiet moment together—and have some fun getting to know each other all over again.

    Husband vs. Wife: 10 Questions

    1. What is one thing your spouse does that drives you absolutely crazy?
    2. What is one thing your spouse does that makes you feel really loved?
    3. If your spouse had a completely free Saturday and could do anything they wanted, what would they choose to do?
    4. When your spouse is stressed or having a bad day, what do they need from you most?
    5. What is one thing you think your spouse would say you need to work on in your marriage?
    6. What is one thing you wish the two of you did more often together?
    7. Who is more likely to start an argument—and who is more likely to want to fix it first?
    8. What season of your marriage has been the hardest, and what do you think helped you get through it?
    9. If you could give your spouse one piece of advice for loving you better, what would it be?
    10. After everything you've been through together, what is one thing about your spouse that you are more grateful for today than when you first got married?

  • Two Are Better Than One: Why You Need Each Other
    2026/08/25

What does it really mean that “two are better than one”?

In this episode, we dive into Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 and explore the incredible gift of having a spouse beside you through the hard seasons of life. Marriage doesn't mean we will never struggle—it means we don't have to struggle alone.

We talk about how couples can work together, lift one another up when one of them falls, and find strength simply through the steady presence of their spouse. Sometimes loving your spouse well means offering encouragement and perspective. Other times, it simply means sitting beside them, listening, and reminding them, “You're not alone in this. I'm in it with you.”

We also talk honestly about seasons when one spouse has to carry more, learning to ask for help, being flexible when life changes, and taking turns being strong for one another.

And ultimately, we look at the beautiful picture of the three-stranded cord—husband, wife, and Christ. Because there is a strength available to our marriage when we invite God into the relationship that we simply cannot create on our own.

If you're going through a difficult season in your marriage, we hope this episode reminds you that you don't have to face it alone. Two are better than one, and with Christ at the center, your marriage can be stronger than either of you could be by yourselves.

  • How To Have A Strong Marriage In Hard Times
    2026/08/18

What do you do when life gets hard—and the very thing you need most is your spouse, but the pressure starts pulling you apart?

In this episode of the Home and Marriage Podcast, we answer our very first fan-mail question about mental health, medication side effects, low libido, and how couples can stay connected sexually when one spouse has little or no desire. We talk honestly about pursuing each other with patience, removing pressure, finding ways to reconnect, and remembering that intimacy is about more than just sex.

Then we zoom out and talk about something every marriage will eventually face: hard seasons. Whether you're dealing with mental health struggles, chronic illness, parenting challenges, family stress, financial pressure, or simply a season that feels overwhelming, how do you keep the hard circumstances from becoming a wedge between you and your spouse?

We share four practical ways to protect your marriage when you're going through a storm:

    • Remember that your spouse is not the enemy—the issue is the issue.
    • Fight intentionally for your connection, even when life is chaotic.
    • Give yourselves permission to get a reprieve from your burdens and enjoy life together.
    • Stay connected to your church community and let other believers help carry your burdens.

Hard seasons are inevitable in marriage, but you don't have to go through them divided. You can learn to lean toward each other, lean on God, and fight for your marriage together.

When everything else feels uncertain, God can be your anchor.

  • Adults Need Friends Too
    2026/08/11

As adults, friendship can easily get pushed to the bottom of the priority list. Work, marriage, parenting, church, and all the demands of everyday life can leave little time or energy for the people who encourage us, challenge us, and walk through life alongside us.

But God designed us for friendship—and the right friendships can make the hard things in life feel a little more manageable.

In this episode, we talk about why friendship matters, what the Bible teaches us about being a good friend, and why even a strong marriage isn't meant to meet every relational need we have. We explore the importance of having friends who encourage us toward Jesus, challenge us toward love and good works, and are willing to show up when life gets hard.

We'll also talk about the vulnerability and sacrifice that real friendship requires, why spending time together in person matters, and how husbands and wives can actually help each other make room for meaningful friendships.

If you've let friendship slip to the sidelines, this episode is your encouragement to reach out, make the coffee date, invite someone to lunch, and start investing again in the relationships that make life richer.

Drawing from our own parenting journey and wisdom from experts like Dr. Ken Wilgus, we discuss how to create meaningful conversations without forcing them.
