Malcolm Gladwell is an author, journalist and cultural commentator who was born on the 3rd of September 1963. He grew up and went to school in rural Ontario, reportedly receiving disappointing grades during his schooling. Gladwell decided to pursue advertising as a profession, however, after being rejected by every advertising agency under the sun, he accepted a journalism position at The American Spectator magazine. Between the years 1987 and 1996, he would work as a reporter for the Washington Post, covering business and science. Gladwell interned with the National Journalism Centre in Washington in 1982. He would also graduate with a bachelor's degree in history from Trinity College of the University of Toronto, in 1984. 2023/05/14

In his work with various organisations and companies around the world, Sinek noted that some teams trust each other so much that they would put their lives on the line for their peers. While other teams were full of bickering, negative, and under-performing staff. Why? The answer became clear during a conversation with a Marine Corps general. "Officers eat last," he said. What's symbolic in the chow hall is deadly serious on the battlefield: Great leaders sacrifice their own comfort--even their own survival--for the good of those in their care. This book investigates this idea in great detail, exploring the qualities of true leadership, and attributes of effective leaders. For reference, Leaders Eat Last received 4.6 Stars on Amazon.com, and 4.1 stars on Goodreads, being received positively overall.
