In this study of Hebrews 03.07-04.11, we explore the sobering warning to "harden not your hearts" by looking back at Israel’s rebellion in the wilderness. Through the lens of Psalm 95, we examine the missed opportunities of a generation that witnessed incredible miracles—from the parting of the Red Sea to divine provision in the desert—yet failed to enter God's rest due to a lack of faith and persistent disobedience. This historical "rebellion" at Massah and Meribah serves as a vital counselor for us "today," reminding us that a hardened heart often stems from doubting God's provision and refusing to trust His character in the midst of our own trials. The central focus of this teaching is understanding the nature of "The Rest" offered to believers. This is not merely a future hope for heaven or a physical settlement in a promised land, but a present reality of dwelling in the shelter of the Most High. By examining the relationship between faith and rest in Psalm 91.01, we learn that we enter this rest by actively trusting in the Lord’s faithfulness as our 'refuge and fortress.'
