Today, we celebrate a special day in Israel and around the world – YOM HA'IVRIT. On this day, we celebrate our language, which has always been and will continue to be an essential part of our history, religion, and culture. Yom Ha'Ivrit is celebrated every year on the 6th of Tevet. On this day in 1881, Eliezer Ben-Yehuda published a famous text in which he called for Hebrew to be used as a living language, not just as a language for studying the Torah or literature. And here we are, almost 150 years later, about to share some interesting facts about this language we love so much. And of course, we will do all of this in... Hebrew. Ready? Yalla!
