Finishing off the chapter on maintaining family ties, we learn the fate of the one who cuts off the ties, who the Prophet ﷺ said is one who maintains the ties and the distinction made on the one who simply reciprocates.

Now that we have a basic idea of what is maintaining ties of family, we reflect on the benefits for us and virtues of maintaining our family relationships.

Reminding ourselves of the sunnah of the Prophet SAW in regards to his family and a reminder about DFV (domestic & family violence) in Islam.

Beginning the next chapter in Al Adab Al Muffed ,the chapter of joining the ties of kinship, silaturahim, we explore what this phrase really means and what it entails from us.

Wrapping up the book on parents, we reflect on the deeds we can perform to continue benefitting our parents and honouring them when they move to the next life.

Gatton masjid hosts regular sessions for the community to learn about the Quran and gain lessons and understanding of what we recite in our prayers. This session explores the two surahs Al Masad and Al Nasr. Reflecting upon the seerah connection of this pair, we try to extract pertinent lessons for ourselves.
