概要

Healing Hearts is a podcast aimed to help others parent with purpose. We offer support for resilient families as a beacon of hope and understanding for parents of vulnerable youth. Our commitment is to serve as an empathetic yet empowering guide for parents through the complex journey of raising children who face emotional, developmental, or behavioral divergence.

We create dialogues that inspire, providing practical solutions and unwavering support for parents seeking strength and compassion in the areas of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), childhood trauma, and the spectrum of developmental, behavioral, and mental health challenges. Our conversations are designed to arm parents with the encouragement they need to persevere. We offer essential and actionable mental health strategies and supporting resources for your journey.

In alignment with the core values of Speak Up for Kids in Palm Beach County, our podcast is more than a platform for discussion—it's a movement where every voice is heard, and each challenge is met with understanding and support, advocating for the well-being and thriving of every child and youth.

This podcast is a result of a student project done through STUDENTS Speak Up for Kids. Our student leaders are ambassadors for change and make a rippling impact in breaking the cycles of abuse, violence, and crime one child at a time.

  • The benefits and unintended impacts of youth sports: The Goal of the Game with Harvey Araton (Part 1)

“How to reduce pressure on young athletes?” “How can I support my kids in youth sports?” “How do sports shape character in kids?” — Kids worldwide engage in team sports, and for years it has brought joy to the players. Recently, though, the commercialization of youth sports, as well as motivations beyond character building and fun, have placed undue pressure on young athletes. This unhealthy pressure leads to stress, overwhelm, and tension. In part one of Benoit Harpey and Kayla Richerson’s conversation with Harvey Araton—New York Times columnist and sports journalist, author, and father—we learn about the true goal of team sports, which lies in character building. Harvey shares his own story; explains how budget constraints, scholarship goals, and sports commercialization take away from the joy; and provides applicable advice for avoiding these negative effects. Together, we dive into the true purpose of youth sports, how to cultivate growth, and how to make the most of what kids really love.

  • From surviving to thriving: The power of expression for children healing from trauma with Tiffany Tyler
    2026/04/28

“How to help my child heal from trauma?” “What are some trauma-informed parenting techniques?” “What are ways to help children cope with trauma?” — The toll that trauma takes on a child extends far beneath the surface. Trauma impacts perceived identity, self-worth, and hinders joy. Today, Benoit Harpey speaks with Tiffany Tyler, the founder of the Grace Epic Center. Tiffany experienced abuse as a child, and the silence around her trauma shaped her identity. She found healing through dance, faith, and expression, and now helps others overcome trauma in the same ways. Tiffany shares the effects of trauma, explains why behavior is often misunderstood, and gives practical advice for supporting healing. It takes consistency, validation, openness, encouragement, and expression. Tiffany shares incredible advice, gives us hope that trauma can be healed, and illustrates how we can help our children go from surviving to thriving.

  • Healing requires consistency, not perfection: Overcoming trauma in parenting with Marcia Earhart (Part 2)
    2026/04/14

    Send us Fan Mail

“Why does it feel like we aren’t healing?” “What actually works for healing trauma?” “Is my child’s trauma un-solvable?” — Two weeks ago, we heard Marcia Earhart’s story through adoption, parenting, loss, and healing from trauma. Today, Benoit Harpey and Brooke Lowry dive deeper in their conversation with Marcia, a trauma coach and mother, as they discuss how to practically parent through trauma to foster healing. Parenting through trauma, grief, and behavioral challenges can feel overwhelming, stagnant, and like a lost cause, but Marcia explains why it isn’t. Marcia expands on the truth of trauma being something that happened, not who a child is; highlights the importance of consistency and routine in a child’s life; and explains the importance of the right support system (and where to find it). She tells us that we will feel tired, overwhelmed, and hopeless, but that progress will come—we just have to keep on moving. If you’re stretched, discouraged, or unsure how to help your child heal from trauma, this episode is for you. Healing is still possible, no matter how hopeless it seems. Take the first step by tuning in today.
