- Her handbag, found in a four-inch clay sewer cleanout behind Unit Nine, contained $7, a Missouri driver’s license, Coral Mist lipstick, and a Blue Ribbon Diner matchbook.
- Brenda’s body was discovered forty minutes after the handbag was found, behind the motel along the soybean field fence line.
- The motel room showed signs she had settled in: open suitcase on the bed, toiletries neatly arranged on the shelf above the basin, and the car key in her coat pocket.
