  • Dreaming of David Beckham
    2026/07/22

HarinGay Radio talks to Juliet Chard about growing up lesbian and finding her place in football — from feeling excluded from the sport as a young person to dreaming of David Beckham and imagining herself playing in the men’s game.

Juliet reflects on the transformation of women’s football over the past decade, from a time when opportunities and visibility were limited to the incredible growth of the game today. Exploring the rise of the Lionesses and the growth of women’s and queer football communities, this episode celebrates football as a space for connection, activism and joy — and as a powerful reflection of changing attitudes towards women’s rights and LGBTQ+ equality.
