Akemi discusses her ongoing work to preserve and share her grandmother’s powerful legacy, including efforts to manage Yuri’s archival materials and expand public access for students, educators, and communities committed to justice. She is the co-director of the Yuri Kochiyama Solidarity Project and co-editor of Passing It On: A Memoir by Yuri Kochiyama.
