Tessa is a holistic health practitioner who works with ceremonial arts, community circles, meditation, and plant medicine.

Samantha asks Tessa about her spiritual origins, and the story is not what you might expect. Tessa talks about her first connection to spirit coming from Mother Nature while hiking in her tiny Midwest hometown. She also shares the unique experience of attending a Christian private school while simultaneously having a dad who taught spirituality at home and a stepmom who was a Wiccan.

The conversation then gets very personal as Tessa opens up about the major turning points that defined her path. It all started with ending her marriage in 2020, a choice that threw her into a massive identity crisis but was ultimately her first big act of "choosing herself." That vision led to a wild story about a trip to Sedona. Right after another breakup, Tessa had to take the trip completely alone for the first time in her life, forcing her to face her absolute biggest fear. This whole journey eventually led her to ayahuasca, and the way she found her community is another amazing story of divine timing that involves a dating app.

They get right into it, talking about how this is a new exploration for Anthony, who shares his background as a "goody two shoes" church boy. Samantha chimes in with her own baggage, having grown up during the DARE age, where "this is your brain on drugs" was the ultimate warning. She opens up about seeing substance abuse in her family, which made her associate drugs with fear and ruin, never seeing them used responsibly or with intention.

They explore how this "drugs are bad" message is so similar to the "sex is bad" message they both received from purity culture. Both sex and drugs were things to be hidden. But now, as they've moved into sacred sexuality and healing, they're finding themselves repairing their relationships with these topics. They wonder, what if these things are not bad? What if they can actually be tools for self discovery and experiencing all of life?

But hold on, they warn this is not just about getting high and hooking up. Pleasure is already an altered state of consciousness. When you add another substance, things can get murky fast. They call it an "advanced experience" for a reason. They get serious about why they host sober play parties, discussing the challenge of "liquid courage" and how substances can undermine the hard work of self growth. They really dive into the absolute importance of boundaries, consent, and self trust, which can all get very complicated.
