• Ultraman Omega 10
    2026/03/13

I just finished Ultraman Omega Episode 10, and something about this episode felt very familiar.

Once again the show returns to the same conflict between Sorato and Kosei, questioning their friendship before reaffirming it by the end of the episode. The problem is that this has already happened multiple times in the series.

In this episode, reporter Maki Arakawa begins filming a documentary about kaiju disasters and the people investigating them. Her presence pushes Sorato dangerously close to revealing that he is Ultraman Omega, which creates another disagreement between him and Kosei.

The premise is interesting. The execution feels repetitive.

Across only a handful of episodes, Ultraman Omega has returned to the same emotional beat between these characters several times. Instead of developing the relationship, the story keeps resetting it.

In this episode of Henshin Inspection, I break down why Episode 10 feels like a rehash and why that is frustrating for a series that should be stronger than this.

  • Ultraman Omega Episode 9 Broke Its Own Worldbuilding... Again
    2026/02/24

Ultraman Omega Episode 9 contradicts the series’ own premise and breaks its internal worldbuilding… again.

In this review of “The Kanakari Kaiju Park,” I explain why this episode isn’t just weak filler: it violates the foundational promise of Omega "world where neither heroes nor kaiju previously existed." When that core idea is ignored, the entire structure of the show starts to wobble.

This isn’t about disliking filler. I’ve defended filler before. This is about internal consistency, respect for audience intelligence, and whether a prestige children’s franchise like Ultraman should take its own premise seriously. Kids deserve coherent stories. Omega has proven it can deliver strong episodes, which makes misfires like this even more frustrating.

I also briefly compare this episode to the structural discipline seen in Ultraman Zet, Blazar, and Arc, and why those series handled their worldbuilding more carefully.

Am I overreacting? Or is Omega starting to undermine itself?

  • Ultraman Omega Episode 8 Review
    2026/02/10

Ultraman Omega episode 8 is not bad, not great, just kind of there. I talk through what worked, what felt odd, and why this one left me mostly shrugging instead of excited. Am I missing something or is this just a middle of the road episode?

  • Ultraman Omega 07 - Didn’t Earn Its Ending... Again
    2026/02/09

    7Episode 7 of Ultraman Omega is… strange.

Not in a bold or experimental way. Not in a mythic or memorable way. Just confusing, oddly structured, and emotionally unearned.

In this episode analysis, I break down why Omega Episode 7 feels mechanically functional but dramatically hollow. From the forced friendship beat to the tonal whiplash, inconsistent lore, and an ending that doesn’t match what actually happened on screen, this is an episode that left me more frustrated than engaged.

I’m not asking for every episode to be mythic. I am asking for consistency, intention, and earned moments. This one didn’t deliver.

What did you think of Ultraman Omega Episode 7?

Did it work for you, or did it fade the moment it ended?

  • From Mythic to Mess | Ultraman Omega Episode 6
    2026/01/05

Episode 5 of Ultraman Omega felt mythic, restrained, and deeply intentional.

Episode 6 felt like the opposite.

In this video, I break down why Omega Episode 6 feels less like a simple misstep and more like a structural failure. Not just a bad or weird episode, but one that breaks the show’s own premise and undercuts the trust built by earlier episodes.

I focus on three core problems:

How Episode 6 contradicts Omega’s promise that kaiju are new to this world

Why the episode’s biology and internal logic collapse under scrutiny

How the action and tone fail to deliver meaning, especially in contrast to Episode 5

This isn’t a dunk. It’s an attempt to understand why this episode feels so off, and why it lands as such a sharp letdown after one of the strongest Ultraman episodes in years.

Let me know what you thought of Episode 6 in the comments.

Did this episode work for you, or did it break your goodwill?

  • Ultraman Omega 05 DUB Review |Going Ultra
    2025/12/22

Ultraman Omega Episode 5 surprised me.

This isn’t really an episode about a fight, or even about a kaiju. It’s a quiet, mythic story about love, grief, and the pain of doing the right thing when it hurts everyone involved.

In this video, I focus on one emotional takeaway from Omega 05: how love can give life, how it can take life, and how sacrifice doesn’t stop hurting just because it’s necessary.

This is not a recap or a breakdown of every plot point. It’s a reflection on why this episode affected me so deeply, and why I think it’s one of the strongest episodes of Ultraman Omega so far.

If this episode moved you, or if you saw something different in it, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

  • Ultraman Omega 04 DUB Review |Going Ultra
    2025/12/16

Ultraman Omega Episode 4 left me frustrated at first… and then the more I thought about it, the better it got.

This episode has a strange tension at its core. Some of it feels very childish, while other parts are surprisingly thoughtful and mature. The conflict between Sorato and Cos, the shogi metaphor about support and importance, and the way Rekiness and Omega evolve all raise questions about who this show is really for and how clearly its themes are landing.

    Bonus Content - (Coming Soon)

In this review, I break down:

    • Why the emotional conflict felt off

    • What the shogi scene is actually trying to say

    • Whether this episode’s message works for kids

    • How Rekiness’ new ability and armor change the fight

    • Why Episode 4 improves the longer you sit with it

If you loved this episode, hated it, or felt conflicted like I did, I’d love to hear your perspective.

  • Ultraman Omega 03 DUB Review |Going Ultra
    2025/12/08

Ultraman Omega episode 3 introduces Rekiness, a kaiju with a design that feels straight out of ancient Chinese carvings. He looks incredible. Pegunos shows up as the actual enemy kaiju this week, and Omega and Rekiness team up against him. On paper, this should be a standout episode… but it ends up quieter and flatter than expected.

In this review I talk about why the dub makes the episode feel dry, why Pegunos didn’t add much tension, and how Rekiness ends up being the most interesting part even though he’s barely active. I also share my running theory that Omega arrived on Earth carrying multiple kaiju inside him and how Rekiness’s crest ties into that.

Let me know what you thought.

Did you like this one more in the sub or the dub?

    Does Rekiness work for you?

And do you think Omega is linked to these kaiju in a bigger way?

    Going Ultra continues.
