Before Gehrett Sargis became one of the veteran voices in the Binghamton Black Bears locker room, he had already built a hockey career defined by perseverance, championships, leadership and a genuine love for the game.

In this special Season 15 replay of the Power Play Post Show, Bob Howard sits down with the veteran forward for an in-depth conversation about the journey that brought him to Binghamton — and why his relationship with head coach Brant Sherwood played such a major role in his decision to become a Black Bear.

Sargis takes us back to his childhood hockey days in the Chicago area, his path through junior hockey, his unforgettable championship run in Helena, his years with the Danville Dashers and his championship experience with Roanoke. He also talks about playing in the ECHL, the differences between the ECHL, SPHL and FPHL, and why he believes the top teams in the FPHL can absolutely compete at higher levels.
