  • Our New Jingle with Music Generation Galway City
    2026/03/03

We’re excited to share a special feature episode of the Galway City – Your Council podcast, diving into the creative process behind our brand‑new podcast jingle.

This episode was produced in collaboration with Music Generation Galway City and created alongside two talented young musicians, Arthur and Isaac, who took the lead in crafting the new jingle. While Galway City Council provided the broad brief, Arthur and Isaac – supported by their Music Educator Emma Lohan – shaped the sound from the ground up. Using an audio mixer, drum machine and synth, they met over several sessions to experiment, refine ideas, and build the melody and rhythm that give the jingle its unique character. Their creativity, collaboration, and musical instinct are at the heart of the final piece you’ll hear.

David Boland, Music Development Officer and Emma Lohan, Music Educator from Music Generation Galway City also join us to talk about the impact of music for young people, the range of Music Generation projects happening across the city, and how creativity, collaboration and youth voice came together to bring this jingle to life.

Interested in learning more about Music Generation Galway City and how young people can get involved?

Gné-Eipeasóid Speisialta Nua – Cathair na Gaillimhe: Podchraoladh Do Chomhairle

Is cúis ríméid dúinn gné-eipeasóid speisialta den phodchraoladh Galway City – Your Council a roinnt, ina bhféachtar go grinn ar an bpróiseas cruthaitheach a bhí taobh thiar de ghligín nua ár bpodchraolta.

Léiríodh an clár seo i bpáirt le Music Generation Chathair na Gaillimhe agus cruthaíodh é in éineacht le beirt cheoltóirí óga chumasacha, Arthur agus Isaac, a bhí i gceannas ar an ngligín nua a chruthú. Cé gur chuir Comhairle Cathrach na Gaillimhe treoir leathan ar fáil dóibh, is iad, Arthur agus Isaac – le tacaíocht ón Oideoir Ceoil Emma Lohan – a chruthaigh an fhuaim ón mbonn. Tháinig siad le chéile le haghaidh roinnt seisiún, agus úsáid á baint acu as meascadh fuaime, meaisín drumadóireachta agus sintéiseoir, chun píosaí a thriail amach, smaointe a bheachtú, agus foinn agus rithim a chruthú a thugann saintréith uathúil don ghligín. Tá a gcuid cruthaitheachta, a gcomhoibriú agus an fhéith cheolmhar atá iontu i gcroílár an phíosa deiridh a bheidh á chloisteáil agat.

David Boland, Oifigeach Forbartha Ceoil agus Emma Lohan, Oideoir Ceoil ó Music Generation Chathair na Gaillimhe inár dteannta freisin chun labhairt faoi thionchar an cheoil ar dhaoine óga, faoi raon tionscadail Music Generation atá ag tarlú ar fud na cathrach, agus an bealach inar tháinig an chruthaitheacht, an comhoibriú agus guth na hóige le chéile chun brí agus anam a chur sa ngligín seo.

Ar mhaith leat tuilleadh a fháil amach faoi Music Generation Chathair na Gaillimhe agus an bealach inar féidir le daoine óga a bheith rannpháirteach?
