• 85 | What You Scroll Is Shaping You: The Self Control to Protect Your Peace From What You Consume
    2026/09/01

Have you ever gotten so pulled into a story, a trial, a show, or somebody else's life online that you couldn't put it down? Do you feel weary and anxious and can't quite trace where it started? What if the thing quietly draining your peace isn't your circumstances at all, but what you've been letting in?

In this episode, Ash gets honest about becoming deeply invested in the Lindsay Clancy trial and the Secret Life of Mormon Wives, and what Scripture says about protecting what reaches your heart. There's nothing wrong with caring, but Proverbs tells us to guard our hearts above all else, and that "above all else" was never a suggestion. We're called to love people and serve them, but not at the cost of the very thing our connection with God runs through.

Ash takes a deep dive through Proverbs 4 to unpack what guarding your heart actually looks like: watching what you consume, keeping your eyes fixed forward, and hiding God's word where it can do its work. This is self control applied where most of us never think to apply it, and the peace from God you've been chasing may be waiting on the other side of it.

The best way to guard your heart is to drop everything and run to Jesus.

  • 84 | Is It God’s Will To Hit Rock Bottom? The Emotional Regulation Prayer That Rescued Me
    2026/08/25

Have you ever had to fall apart completely before you could finally accept the help that was right in front of you? Do you feel weary and out of control, like you need more self control just to hold it together, wondering if you had to hit rock bottom just to notice God was trying to rescue you the whole time? If you're anxious, unhappy, and struggling to regulate your emotions right now, asking "God, really? Did I have to suffer this much?"... this episode is for you.

In this episode, I open up about something I don't love talking about — because look where I am now. But I know I need to say it, because I needed to hear it. For a long time, it was easy for me to blame God for my hardships. I needed to hit rock bottom before I could actually appreciate the rescue He had in store for me. But here's what I've learned: God doesn't delight in our suffering. He's concerned for us, and He rescues us. But we have to pray.

    Scriptures referenced:

    • Galatians 5:22 — the fruit of the Spirit, including peace and patience
    • 1 Peter 5:7 — "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you"

  • 82 | One Comment Can Steal Your Whole Day: How Emotional Regulation With God Protects Your Peace
    2026/08/11

Have you ever worked so hard to protect your peace, only to have one comment, one hard day, or one person's opinion steal it away? Do you feel weary, overwhelmed, and exhausted from trying to control everything around you just to feel okay? What if peace with God isn't a nice bonus for good seasons, but the one thing you can't afford to let anyone take?

In this episode, Ash gets honest about the difference between the peace she used to fight for and the peace she found through God. For years, she believed protecting her peace meant controlling her environment, avoiding conflict, and holding everything together herself. But that kind of peace never lasted, because it depended entirely on her. Real emotional regulation with God works the other way around: you stop managing your own calm and start receiving His. If you are a weary mom searching for peace in the middle of chaos, peace with God was never something you had to manufacture. It's something He wants to give you, and it's non-negotiable. Protect it.

  • 81 | God's Silence Is Not His Absence: The Patience to Keep Praying When You Can't See God's Will
    2026/08/04

Have you been praying every day but feel like no one is listening? Do you feel so weary and overwhelmed that you're wondering how to hear from God when all you experience is silence? Are you desperate for peace and longing to grow closer to God, but don't know how to pray when He feels far away?

In this episode, Ash shares the season that nearly broke her faith while caring for her medically complex son. After countless prayers and what felt like endless silence, she realized that God's silence was never the same thing as His absence. You'll hear why prayer can feel one-sided in the hardest seasons, what Scripture teaches about the patience of waiting on God, and how to stop chasing answers so you can start recognizing His presence instead. Ash also shares the simple prayer framework she uses every time she prays now, the one that helped her grow closer to God and trust Him when life stopped making sense. Learning how to pray this way became the beginning of her own spiritual healing.

  • 80 | Why I Stopped Praying "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" With My Kids: The Spiritual Healing in a New Bedtime Prayer
    2026/07/28

Do you feel weary when your head hits the pillow because your mind won't stop replaying fears, worries, and "what ifs"? Did a prayer you learned as a child leave you feeling anxious about God instead of experiencing the peace from God Scripture talks about? What if the bedtime prayer you have said for years was actually shaping the way you see God?

In this episode, Ash shares the moment she stopped saying "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" with her own kids because she realized the words were creating fear instead of peace. So many of us grew up carrying fears we never named. Fear of doing something wrong. Fear of punishment. Fear that God was waiting for us to fail. But Scripture describes a God who invites us into rest, hope, and peace instead. You'll hear what the Bible says about where your soul actually finds rest, how fear shapes the way you pray, and a simple bedtime peace prayer you can use tonight with your family. Learning how to pray before bed differently is where the spiritual healing starts, for you and for your kids.

  • 79 | Is God Good When Bad Things Happen? Spiritual Healing for the Mom Who's Been Told She Doesn't Believe Enough
    2026/07/21

Have you ever gone through something so hard you found yourself asking, "God, really? How could a good God let this happen to me?" Was your faith built on love or on fear of punishment, so the moment life fell apart, your trust in God started to vanish and unbelief crept in? Have you ever been called foolish, or "not faithful enough," for questioning if God is good after a loss?

In this episode, I'm reopening the story of a woman Scripture has been used to villainize, Job's wife, and asking whether she was really foolish to blame God and question if He is good after watching all ten of her children die. I'm sharing my own three years of walking away after my son wasn't healed, and what finally brought me back: realizing I never stopped believing in the true God, only the God I was terrified of. We'll talk about the two things real faith actually needs, belief and trust in God, why grief and lament and honesty are not sins, and the first steps toward spiritual healing when your faith feels fragile. This one is for the weary mom who's been blamed for "not believing enough" and needs to know God is for her, not against her.
