Can I do niche teaching if I don’t know anything about my niche? Yes, you can. Tara had the same concern after she graduated from the 21-Day Teacher-Entrepreneur Challenge in March 2020 when she decided to switch from IELTS to lawyers. The reason she picked lawyers as her niche was because she taught 2 lawyers general English on Preply. She had a lot of fun working with her lawyer students and she knew there could be more business potential in lawyers than in IELTS. However, she didn’t know anything about lawyers. Just like many of you, she had doubts and concerns. She thought about quitting and going back to her comfort zone, teaching IELTS. But she didn’t. She pushed herself through it, taught over 50 lawyer clients, and increased her hourly rate to $120.
