More than 25 years ago, Byron and his father opened a record store at a time when vinyl sales were declining and music streaming hadn't even been imagined. Years later, after he and his wife decided where they wanted to put down roots, Byron opened Hop Fidelity in late February 2020—just weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic changed the world.

Today, Hop Fidelity is much more than a record store. It has become a welcoming community gathering place where music lovers connect over live bands, DJ nights, and a shared passion for discovering new and classic records. Visitors can even enjoy a draft beer from Philadelphia's Love City Brewing while browsing the shelves, creating an experience that's as much about community as it is about music.

From taking a leap of faith to navigating the challenges of launching a business during one of the most uncertain times in recent history, Byron shares the highs, the lows, and the lessons he learned along the way.
