After suffering with stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer that spread throughout her entire body (including her bones), and constantly being told to stay positive and push through without really being supported or shown how to do exactly that... Carrie realized that there is a huge need for groups that offer the support truly needed at any given time. So, this coming year Carrie is opening the doors to her non-profit, RISE: Reimagining Inclusive Self Empowerment to offer Self-Care Support Groups and Nature Retreats for Parents, Chronically Ill, and Young Adults at no cost.
