    As a former president of the Friends of Tūhura and granddaughter of H. D. Skinner, Julie Pearse is well qualified to share the Friends' rich history. With fascinating anecdotes and historical information, Julie enlightens listeners on the highs and lows of the Association of Friends, how it battled membership problems in the 2000s and rose again. She tells tales of her “Pop’s” excavations and the games he would play with her in the museum. She also shares her father Dick Skinner’s views on the museum’ retention of Wharenui Mataatua and how they differed from her own.     Retirement hasn’t stopped Dr Tim Medlicott from active contributions to the community. After about 40 years as a GP, Tim is an active Friend of Tūhura Otago Museum and consistent and substantial volunteer with the museum’s Archives Project. The Association of Friends support the Archives Project with funding and volunteers. Friends are summarising and scanning documents including letters to and from HD Skinner, one of the museum’s influential directors. The letters detail unique item acquisitions and provide insights into the personalities and their sense of purpose. Tim shares some of the fascinating stories that he has come across through his work with the Archives Project.
