Northeast Nebraska wrapped up an unusually dry winter, and local cattle producers are keeping a close eye on conditions as calving season continues and spring pasture management looms. In this week's episode of Friday Feeders, Ben Beckman, an Extension Educator in Cedar County, said much of the region has missed out on consistent winter moisture. "Just talking to some of the guys that are calving right now, you know, when they're okay with moisture during calving season, you know it's dry. And they're okay with getting something," Beckman said.
