Gary Bell was born into poverty as the son of a coal miner. He became a football hooligan, ended up in prison for defrauding fruit machines, applied to Bristol University as a mature student, successfully pretended to be an Old Etonian, befriended Michael Gove, became Midlands Stand Up Comedian of the Year, married an aristocrat and now enjoys a career as one of the country's leading defence lawyers. He tells Matt Lorenzo about his remarkable life and the role luck has played in it. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
