概要
In 1925, cave explorer Floyd Collins got trapped 55 feet underground in Sand Cave, Kentucky, when a rock pinned his leg. Rescue efforts became a national sensation, with journalists swarming the site and thousands gathering to watch. Despite days of digging and a makeshift tunnel, rescuers couldn’t reach him in time. After 14 agonizing days, Collins died alone in the cave. His body was eventually recovered—and later bizarrely displayed in a glass coffin as a roadside attraction.
